A hard frosty morning for January 2nd 2019.

I noticed the condensation on the inside of the double-glazing and switched the central heating on first thing in the morning.

A late afternoon walk for an hour, I noticed the buds on a small magnolia tree and some branches of willow overhanging a garden.

I spotted my first wren of 2019. Wrens bring a smile to my face, they’re so small and quick.  They remind me of an animated Malteser.

In the back garden a lone bright orange English marigold has survived the summer.  On my walk, I noticed a few daisies and dandelion in flower.  And some yellow flowers on the rugged gorse by the roadside.

By the end of my walk, I was frozen to the bone.
