Much colder today with a hard frost in the morning again. The hills and fields were white.  Whilst my tea was brewing I watch the sparrows walk on the frozen ice in their bird bath… they looked bemused balancing on the ice.

I noticed an allium pushing through today and the pretty pink flower on the viburnum.

On a walk I noticed the catkins on one of the trees. Alas, I can’t identify the type of catkin. Is it hazel, alder or something else? I’ll need to take a closer and better photograph to identify the catkin and tree.

I spotted a few surviving apples hanging on to a random apple tree near a public footpath. I smiled as I imagined them singing the Gloria Gaynor hit ‘I will survive’ as they clinged to the tree for dear life!
