These cheerful chives seem like cheerleaders in the garden… loud with colour. The blossoms remind me of little pom-poms and they’re edible and nutritious.

These ones from my garden are a mixture of different types of chives including garlic chives (Allium Tuberosum) which are much more sturdier than the Common Chives (Allium Schoenoprasum). 

Chives are low in calories and high in vitamins, minerals and antoxidants. 

For around 8 months of the year we have an easy and constant supply of something useful and tasty to add to sandwiches, dips and many other healthy snacks. Why not try growing them yourself?
